Just this week, Instagram announced that it surpassed 500 million monthly active users and 300 million daily active users. This growth is astounding with Instagram more than doubling its user base over the past two years. It was reported that 95 million photos and video are shared each day and that it accumulates 4.2 billion likes each day.*
Instagram, so far, is different than other networks like Facebook and Twitter. The attention is much greater as each photo and caption are looked at by your audience before they move onto the rest. Surely that will change, and they’ll implement a Facebook style metric, but for now take advantage of this attention.
What do you as the powersports dealer do to take advantage of these numbers? We’ll get to that in this and future post but one thing that is certain, it’s time to step up your game.

Once your set up, it’s time to post.
We’ll get into more detail in a future post but for now here are a couple of ideas to get you started.
- Your store- What separates you from your competitor? Take a photo of it and share it on Instagram. Do you have the largest wall of helmets, the best jacket selection in your area, more tires than anyone else, share it on Instagram?
- Your employees-Your staff is the greatest asset you have. Share their story. Is your top tech an industry veteran with 20 years experience, let the world know.
- Behind the scenes- Show your followers those places behind the closed doors.
Good- so now you can get started on Instagram. Start taking advantage of all of those eyes.
