Why listen to me? What do I know about racer promotions?
My experience and expertise on this subject comes from both sides of the fence. Initially as a racer, then at the dealer level and finally at the manufacturers level.
As a racer, I was able to gain sponsors and return a value, not based upon results, but based on the fact that I helped them sell.At the dealer level, I worked with successful racers that provided value and sales back to the shop and even today at the manufacturers level where the value is more than a sticker on a fender. I’ve seen thousands of resumes, good and bad and understand what makes a good support rider.
With contacts from every aspect of the industry including team managers, agents and manufacturers reps, I’m able to understand the current trends and what everyone is looking for regarding promoting their company. These patterns, including social media and what to say and not to say, go a long way in furthering your racing career.
You’ll see most of these posts are just common sense. Take them and give them a try.
Remember it’s not what the company can do for you, it’s what you do for them. Sell Product!
