Last month I managed the Bel-Ray space at the MINExpo in Las Vegas, NV. Held every four years, this show draws in more than 1900 exhibitors from all around the world.
We displayed in a 20×20 booth in the South Hall and with the help of our exhibit house showed an exciting space with semi-private meeting space, storage, and spin to win game and revolutionary new products.
Here are some images of the booth space.
I won’t get into the details. However, we closed sales in the booth showing a positive return on all of our objectives.
As an interesting note, I came across this list of show facts provided by GES and published on Exhibit City News. Some of the facts that I found most interesting include.
GES Show Facts:
- GES will use:
- 150 forklifts – varying in size from 12,000 lbs to 36,000 lbs
- More than 20 cranes – 30 tons to 225 tons
- More than 500 pieces of GES owned and rented equipment to produce show
- GES lays more than 70,000 linear feet of carpeting, which is 700,000 square feet of aisle carpeting.
- Pre-Assembly of equipment takes seven weeks.
- Post Assembly of equipment takes three weeks.
- GES used all of these forms of transportation to move equipment – sea, rail, road, sky.
- More than 2,700 small packages received.
- GES will have over 20 cranes in operation at the same time on our peak day and will be using cranes of all various sizes, but the largest crane will be a 265-ton crane.
MINExpo.com Facts:
- MINExpo is 840,000 sq. ft.

We came away with some great ideas and initiatives for the 2020 event and are already working on the plan to go bigger and better when the show returns.
