Merritt Island, FL (March 23, 2017) – Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant, the premier choice for powersports coolant and antifreeze, would like to congratulate Prieto Performance and rider Michael Barnes on their podium finish with a second place at the 2017 Daytona 200.
Coming off of their 2016 victory, Barnes and Prieto Performance set the pole for the 2017 event with a 1:49:487, the fastest time since the 2014 race. The 48-year-old rider from Florida again showed he is one of the top riders in the country by running at or near the front for the entire race. At the checkered flag, Barnes was third, but a disqualification for second place rider Cory West pushed Barnes up a position.
In addition to Barnes, two additional Engine Ice riders scored top 10 finishes. Kawasaki-mounted Jason Farrell was
7th, and Yamaha-mounted Geoff May was 8th. There was also a total of 14 riders using Engine Ice Hi-Performance coolant in the field.
