The Jacob Javits Center in lower Manhatten hosted the Progressive Insurance International Motorcycle Show last weekend, December 1-3, 2017. The New York show is part of a seven-city tour that covers the United States from November 2017 – February 2018. In addition to the stop in New York, the tour also visits the following cities. Long Beach, CA, Minneapolis, MN, Cleveland, OH, Dallas, TX, Chicago, IL and Washington, DC.
The show is the one opportunity for consumers to see all of the new models under one roof where they can compare the features and benefits of each model and ultimately make their best decision. In addition to seeing the new machines, each OEM has staff on hand from local dealers and direct from their corporate offices, so no question goes unanswered.
While the show has a decidedly street focus, there is something for everyone with brand representation from Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, KTM, Harley-Davidson, Indian, Slingshot and Royal Enfield. There are also many vendors selling motorcycle and non-motorcycle related items making for a fun shopping environment.
The location is excellent for most of New Jersey with a ferry stop nearby or a quick train ride on NJ Transit and a 10-minute walk from Penn Station to the Javits Center and this year the weather was fantastic with many attendees making a day of their trip to the city.
Plus, where else can you get thousands of motorcyclists in a single room talking about the sport they love.
For more information on the remaining 2017-2018 shows visit their website MotorcycleShows.com and put it on your schedule for next December. See you there.
