Motorcycle Industry Council Members Choose Two New Board Members, Re-elect a Third
Ashmore Ellis, Co-Founder and CEO of Babes Ride Out and Babes in the Dirt, and Paul Langley, Chairman and CEO of LeMans Corporation, will be joining the Motorcycle Industry Council Board of Directors in 2025. The MIC also welcomes the return of Tim Calhoun, President of Powersports Pros Consulting.
Jeff Brown of EagleRider, and Marc McAllister of Brooks Stevens, Inc., will be leaving the board when their terms expire in January.
“The industry will face a lot of changes in the next few years with technology, trends, and policy, especially as the U.S. ushers in a new administration,” said Derek Brooks, MIC Board Chairman and Motorcycle Product Line Manager at Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. “There will be much work facing the association, so I am looking forward to working with Ashmore and Paul, who will bring their expertise and fresh perspectives to the board, and to the continued contributions of Tim. I would also like to thank Jeff and Marc for their service to the board.”
“What a privilege,” Ellis said. “I am thrilled to begin my term on the board of directors and look forward to contributing to the success we will have by working together to ensure motorcycling becomes more inclusive and accessible for generations to come. While serving on this board, I hope to set things in motion that will benefit, protect, and engage not only a new era of riders but the industry as a whole. Looking forward to what we can accomplish over the next two years that safeguards and uplifts the future of motorcycling.”
“I am excited to get the opportunity to serve on the MIC board and I look forward to working with the other board members on some of the challenges our industry is facing,” Langley said. “Working for a cause is a great motivation and I trust my experience, commitment, and willingness to collaborate on important issues will benefit the MIC and its industry members during my tenure on the board.”
“It is always an honor to be elected or re-elected by a peer-based vote,” Calhoun said. “I take the role on the MIC board seriously and will continue representing the aftermarket segment of the powersports industry to the best of my ability. These last six years, we have made good strides in improving the value proposition offered to MIC members and continue to face tough regulations and legislatures head-on. I look forward to working hand-in-hand with MIC Chairman Derek Brooks, MIC President and CEO Christy LaCurelle, and MIC staff to ensure the aftermarket voice is heard and represented.”

Chase Down New Uncharted Territories with The 2025 KTM 1390 SUPER ADVENTURE R
Be it isolated ice-clad tundras, heavily wooded forests, or dried-up riverbeds, the 2025 KTM 1390 SUPER ADVENTURE R is ready to cross borders in search of new, uncharted ground.
The KTM 1390 SUPER ADVENTURE R sits at the top of the offroad Adventure food chain and obliterates all challengers. The KTM 1390 SUPER ADVENTURE R, provides off-grid Adventure motorcyclists with the ideal platform to travel beyond the beaten track.
For 2025, the KTM 1390 SUPER ADVENTURE R features an all-new bodywork design, LED lighting, a shorter, more offroad-focused windshield, and more storage binnacles. The 2025 KTM 1390 SUPER ADVENTURE R sees an increase in frame stiffness, improving handling and track stability. A reworked crash bar – fitted as standard on the SUPER ADVENTURE R – has also been stiffened up to provide better protection thanks to an additional arm towards the engine bracket.
Unlike the KTM 1390 SUPER ADVENTURE S and S EVO, the KTM 1390 SUPER ADVENTURE R is fitted with a more traditional suspension setup better suited to harder offroad use, with a 48 mm WP XPLOR split cartridge fork and WPs XPLOR Progressive Damping System (PDS) shock taking care of duties at the rear end.
Engine displacement is increased from 1,300 to 1,350 cc, producing a staggering 173 Ps @ 9,500 rpm and 145 Nm @ 8,000 rpm, with all-new CAMSHIFT™ technology providing improved rideability in the low rpm range. This makes for a smoother response when negotiating tight trails.
The innovative CAMSHIFT technology provides variable-valve timing with two individual cam profiles. At higher revs, the inlet cams shift sideways, opening the valves longer and higher for more gas flow into the cylinder head, which drastically increases performance, while in the lower rev range, the inlet cams have a reduced valve timing and lift. This results in a noticeable increase in rideability in both normal road conditions around town and high-performance use on faster, open roads.
The KTM 1390 SUPER ADVENTURE R also receives KTM’s new premium electronics package, with an all-new 8” vertical-mounted dashboard. The 8” touchscreen features inductive technology, allowing easy operation – even when wearing thick winter or offroad gloves. The screen also features innovative Anti-reflex, anti-fingerprint, and anti-glare coating which improves overall readability, as well giving riders access to new RIDE MODES, built-in Navigation, and Connectivity features.
The new 2025 KTM 1390 SUPER ADVENTURE R will be rolling off the Austrian production line in 2025. For more information, visit KTM.com.

The One Motorcycle Show is coming to Las Vegas
AIMExpo and The One Motorcycle Show are partnering to bring a full motorcycle experience to Las Vegas, February 5-8, connecting the industry’s trade event with an established, high-energy consumer show that celebrates custom motorcycle artistry and culture. The collaboration will give manufacturers, retailers, and consumers more ways to engage with one another, truly bringing the powersports community together.
“This is an exciting evolution of both shows and something trade and consumer audiences have been asking for,” said Cinnamon Kernes, Vice President of Market Expansion at the Motorcycle Industry Council. “We’re building a robust, unified powersports event for the industry and enthusiasts with long-term partnership goals. This event will also attract potential new riders with inclusive, inviting displays and activities. And AIMExpo exhibitors will have greater exposure to all these markets. This collaboration will be the ultimate networking event for the industry.”
AIMExpo, the premier powersports trade show in America, will be at the Las Vegas Convention Center, February 5-7, gathering industry stakeholders from OEMs, aftermarket companies, distributors, retailers, dealers, servicers, media, and more. From new products and education workshops to data, research, trends, and government relations updates, AIMExpo attendees will come away with a well-rounded understanding of the powersports market, preparing them for the upcoming sales season. With more than 350 exhibitors and an anticipated attendance of more than 2,000 dealers, partnering with The One Moto Show gives AIMExpo attendees one more opportunity to celebrate their industry.
The One Moto Show, North America’s largest independently owned custom bike show, will be at the distinctive Western Hotel in downtown Las Vegas, February 7-8, drawing the enthusiast community together through moto-inspired art, custom-built motorcycles from around the world, vendors, influencers, and support from local builders. There will be live performances, outdoor OEM demo opportunities, custom showcases, and a highly anticipated awards ceremony. The One Moto Show will span 22,000 square feet of indoor event space and 37,280 square feet of outdoor space to accommodate about 10,000 people each day.
As part of this collaboration, a VIP preview event for all AIMExpo exhibitors and attendees will be held Thursday night, giving the industry early access to The One Moto Show before it opens to the public Friday afternoon.
“Our show is an easy way for non-riders to see what motorcycling is all about,” said Thor Drake, who founded The One Moto Show in 2010. “We know how to have a good time; we give them a taste and get them excited about how motorcycles can become part of their lives. We’re pumped to partner with AIMExpo so our attendees can dive into different motorcycle cultures and check out the latest tech.”
AIMExpo and The One Moto Show will deliver a premier, multi-faceted motorcycle experience to Las Vegas, elevating the industry and fostering stronger ties among all stakeholders in the powersports community.
“Our mission is to create a must-attend powersports destination event for everyone — from those who are passionate about it to those who are curious,” Kernes said. “And we’re thrilled to be able to kick this off in Las Vegas.”
