S&S Cycle Announces Rob Andolsek Promotion
S&S Cycle is excited to announce Rob Andolsek’s promotion to Sales and Technical Support Manager. Andolsek steps into this role with 23 years of S&S Cycle experience under his belt.
Andolsek started his powersports career with PSI performance developing exhausts and two-stroke engines for snowmobiles. But they were not just winter fun snowmobiles, his involvement had primed him for S&S by focusing on drag race, hill climb and oval racings sleds. At S&S Cycle Andolsek has held a number of significant roles in preparing for his new position to include Product Development Project Lead, Product Line Manager and Sales Engineer. Notably Andolsek led both the Stealth Air Cleaner and T-143 Projects.
“With all his years of experience in Product Development and Product Line management, Rob is a perfect fit for this new role,” said Charlie Hadayia, Executive Vice President. “I look forward to seeing the innovation he creates in both departments.”
“I am excited to jump into this newly created role and deliver the best possible service to our dealers, distributors and customers,” said Rob Andolsek. “With oversight of both sales and technical support, it places me in a great place to really understand what is happening in our market—and that will translate to helping our internal engineering and product development teams as well.”
With a new dealer catalog in the market, Rob steps into his role at a time when dealers and distributors have more S&S Cycle product information than they have had in a long time. His inherent S&S Cycle knowledge will be a huge benefit to customers, dealers and distributors alike from both a sales and technical perspective.
“Airbags Save” Campaign Returns for Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month
Comoto – the parent company of America’s leading motorcycle gear retailers, including Cycle Gear, J&P Cycles, RevZilla and REVER – is rolling out the second year of their Airbags Save initiative this May in support of Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. The countrywide campaign is designed to raise awareness about wearable airbag technology and its role in reducing serious injuries among riders.
Launched in 2024, Airbags Save has helped introduce thousands of riders to advanced airbag protection systems available to motorcyclists. Making these products accessible to try on and learn about at any of the 163 Cycle Gear locations in the US allows riders to see exactly why an airbag is just as important as a helmet when outfitting themselves. Since the launch of Airbags Save, Comoto’s new unit sales have grown over 75% in the past 12 months and 117% since March 1st of this year (over 1,600 units).
“Airbags Save has been incredibly successful in bringing awareness of this technology to the public,” explained Stevan Popovich, President of Cycle Gear. “Most people don’t even realize the technology exists, but we’ve continued to see adoption skyrocket. Our message is resonating, and it’s making a real difference in rider safety.”
Joining the campaign this year as presenting sponsor is Progressive, the country’s leader in motorcycle insurance. Their support in raising awareness for this pivotal technology to aid motorcycle riders is a testament to their commitment to the community and improving rider safety while on the road through the Airbags Save initiative.
“At Progressive, protection and safety are a priority,” said Eric Doubler, Progressive Recreational Lines Business Leader. “As the leading insurer of motorcycle insurance, we strive not only to educate motorcycle riders on having the right coverage, but to also provide opportunities for enhanced safety measures. Collaborating with Comoto on the ‘Airbags Save’ campaign allows us to do just that.”
In addition to wearable airbags, Airbags Save also highlights the critical role of helmet safety. As part of that effort, Comoto has partnered with Mips®, a global leader in helmet-based safety, incorporating Mips® technology into the Sedici line of helmets. Mips® safety system consists of a low-friction layer that is designed to allow a multi-directional movement inside the helmet, intended to help reduce rotational motion to the head in certain angled impacts that can lead to concussions or other brain injuries.
“For us, safety is a first priority, and our team works tirelessly against our vision of reducing head injuries, and saving more lives,” explains Max Strandwitz, Mips® CEO. “We’re happy to be partnering with Comoto on this very important subject of motorcycle safety, and in particular helmet safety, further advancing the Sedici line of helmets.”
With so many advancements in rider safety, Comoto believes there’s a new generation of riders ready to find their passion as motorcyclists. As such, Comoto has also partnered with the Motorcycle Industry Council for the Ride With Us campaign, which aims to make motorcycling more accessible by removing common barriers such as licensing, gear knowledge and community connection. Through hands-on experiences like RIDE Day events, participants can try riding a motorcycle in a controlled environment with certified coaches and safety gear provided.

Motorcycle Safety Foundation Shares Tips to Keep Everyone Safe on the Road this Summer
As summer approaches, so does peak riding season, with more and more motorcyclists gearing up to enjoy the open road to commute, travel, and find new adventures. Motorcycle registrations reached an all-time high of 9.5 million in 2023, the latest year available, according to the Federal Highway Administration. With so many more riders, the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) is sharing its top tips for riders and drivers to help keep everyone safe.
“Many drivers don’t realize how quickly a motorcycle can disappear into a blind spot,” said Andria Yu, a motorcycle safety expert and RiderCoach with the MSF. “Before changing lanes or making a turn, take an extra second to look, then check again. Many cars have blind spot detectors, but don’t rely on them as they don’t always pick up motorcyclists. It’s best to use your mirrors and make a head check, looking with your eyes. Stay focused on the road. Don’t drive distracted. Did you know that driving at 65 miles per hour, you can travel about 100 feet in one second. Three seconds of distraction, and you’ve covered about a football field. And make sure to give riders some space. Many motorcyclists slow down by rolling off their throttle, which means their brake light might not come on, so give yourself some extra room behind them.”
Motorcyclists are also encouraged to wear bright or light-colored gear and look over their motorcycles before heading out.
“Before every ride, check your tires, lights and fluids,” said Yu. “And whether you’re new to riding or have years of experience, proper training makes all the difference. It is one of the best investments you can make in your safety.”
The Motorcycle Safety Foundation provides safety courses that focus on real-world techniques, teaching fundamental motorcycle skills and strategies required to be a safe rider. To enroll in a course or learn more about motorcycle safety, visit msf-usa.org.
