SLIDE TO NEW LIMITS WITH THE 2026 KTM 450 SMR
KTM’s peerless competition Supermoto motorcycle, the KTM 450 SMR, receives focused upgrades and a fresh look for 2026. The stopwatch is already anxious.
The KTM 450 SMR follows KTM’s lineage and spirit. The bike is a highly refined track tool for three purposes: owning checkered flags, destroying lap records and challenging the rider to be better and faster every day. Pure performance with pure objectives. Need a reminder of the KTM SMR pedigree? Firstly, the combination of the light, grunty SOHC 450 cc engine. Secondly, the lithe and agile chassis that contributes to exceptional handling, centralization and sport-orientated ergonomics. Thirdly, the XACT WP Suspension for heightened feel and planted rear end stability. Fourthly, the tech specs; for electronics with traction control and launch control, large and powerful Brembo brakes, CNC-ed parts, ALPINA wheels, Metzeler tires and more.
KTM has enhanced this formidable competition platform with important updates to denote 2026 status. The KTM 450 SMR is the latest itineration of the ultimate expression of Supermoto thrills.
For 2025 the FIM have planted a new noise limit of 109 db. The 2026 KTM 450 SMR has been reengineered through EFI modifications, airbox inserts and silencer tweaks to meet this regulation with barely a dent in the ferocious output. Users can push the limits without hesitation, knowing that the 2026 KTM 450 SMR is still the most potent player off the line: the bike is just a little quieter about how good it is.
Riders can also be sure of quicker and more efficient maintenance, as well as increased dependability of the radiator housing, thanks to a new closure component and system. More time at speed rather than in the pits.
The 2026 KTM 450 SMR has a different insulating cap for the CPC fueling connector. The result is more protection from knocks or debris but also another shield against dirt or other terrain disrupting the engine performance and the flow from the 7.2 L tank. The fuel filter in the hose remains steadfast and easily accessible.
The KTM 450 SMR can also be equipped with the Connectivity Unit Offroad (CUO). The 2026 model has been crafted to adopt the CUO as a KTM PowerPart add-on, which opens up more set-up possibilities courtesy of the KTMConnect app through smartphones. The CUO can be fixed between the CNC Triple clamps and the GPS sensor attached to the front fender. Once a connection is established then engine management, suspension settings and mileage can be altered and tracked through a few simple taps of the screen. The GPS capabilities of the 2026 KTM 450 SMR now mean further analysis of riding style and performance on any given day or circuit.
Witness it: 2026. A new year, a new model and a new style. The KTM 450 SMR will be a more forceful orange blur due to the 2026 colors and graphics with the tough but flexible in-molded plastics. A retro dash of purple is the only concession to the past, and the distinctive KTM shade is offset with a menacing black across the frame and wheels.
The 2026 KTM 450 SMR will be available at authorized KTM dealers starting from October. For more information, visit KTM.com.

Triumph Reveals All New Trident 800: MADE TO UPSTAGE
Triumph Motorcycles has revealed the all-new Trident 800, a brand new naked middleweight roadster designed to deliver exhilarating performance, dynamic urban attitude, and a high-energy riding experience. With its compact, muscular stance and stripped-back styling, the Trident 800 brings a bold new edge to Triumph’s roadster line-up.
With its responsive 798cc triple engine and triple throttle bodies, the Trident 800 offers addictive real-world performance that’s ready to thrill. From the instant throttle response, to the unrelenting mid-range torque and thrilling top-end power, the ride is both visceral and refined, backed by Triumph’s unmistakeable triple soundtrack channelled through the upswept sports-style silencer.
Built for serious fun, the Trident 800’s lightweight chassis and high specification adjustable Showa suspension deliver a high-energy riding experience with instinctive agility and confident control. Wide bars, a compact frame and assertive riding position combine to create a bike that reacts immediately to every input, flicks effortlessly through corners and stays composed at speed. Just 198kg fully fuelled, with grippy Michelin tyres, it’s light on its feet and always ready to deliver the grin factor.
The Trident 800 is equipped with intuitive, rider-focused technology designed to enhance every ride. Three riding modes tailor throttle response and traction control to suit the conditions, while lean-sensitive Optimised Cornering ABS and Optimised Cornering Traction Control deliver confidence and control in every turn. With My Triumph Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, and a clean and clear TFT dash, the Trident 800 keeps you dialled in and in the moment.
Blending rebellious energy with refined Triumph roadster DNA, its sculpted tank and trim tail create a lean, modern silhouette, while premium finishes, from brushed aluminium to bold colour schemes and contrasting gold-coloured wheels, amplify its dynamic presence. Whether parked kerbside or carving through city streets, the Trident 800 delivers a compelling blend of attitude, performance and precision.
Steve Sargent, Chief Product Officer, Triumph Motorcycles said: “The incredible popularity of the Trident 660 and the Street Triple 765 RS has shown us just how much riders in this segment value a thrilling, confidence-inspiring ride that’s packed with character and technology. With the launch of the Trident 800, we’ve taken that winning formula and dialled it up, delivering even more road-focused capability and excitement.
“With the Trident 800, we’ve focused on delivering the kind of performance and character that riders want in the real world. The all-new engine with triple throttle bodies provides maximum engagement on everyday roads, and we’ve paired that with a lightweight, high-spec chassis and adjustable Showa suspension.
“We know this customer is looking for rider-focused technology like lean-sensitive Optimised Cornering ABS and Traction Control, Triumph Shift Assist, and cruise control to enhance the riding experience without distracting from it. This bike is for riders who want maximum excitement, anytime, anywhere. This opens the door to a whole new audience of riders looking for a fun, adrenaline-fuelled, purposeful ride.”
ALL-NEW TRIPLE ENGINE
At the heart of the Trident 800 is Triumph’s all-new 798cc triple, engineered for pulse-pounding excitement. It reacts instantly in any gear, delivering a wave of torque and a howling top end that surges all the way to the 11,500 rpm redline.
Producing 115PS at 10,750 rpm, and a peak 84Nm of torque at 8,500 rpm, the triple’s addictive mid-range drive is accompanied by a deep induction roar through the triple throttle bodies, amplified by the redesigned airbox and intake trumpet system to optimise airflow and induction sound. The result is a deep, throaty growl under load and the unmistakable Triumph triple howl at high revs. Internally, the engine features a twist-forged crankshaft, unique camshaft and balancer, forged conrods, and high-compression pistons, all designed to maximise performance and durability.
EFFORTLESS HANDLING AND AGILITY
Backing up the engine is a chassis built for high-energy riding, with a lightweight frame and adjustable Showa suspension which deliver razor-sharp handling. The split seat is 810mm high, with a narrow standover, shaped to hold the rider in place. Up front, 41mm upside-down Showa forks feature big-piston, separate-function damping, with adjustable compression and rebound. The rear Showa monoshock offers preload and rebound adjustment for a perfectly tuned ride. Braking is handled by twin 4-piston radial calipers gripping 310mm discs, fed by braided steel lines for strong, progressive stopping power.
RIDER-FOCUSED TECHNOLOGY
The Trident 800 is equipped with smart, rider-focused technology designed to enhance the ride without distraction. At its core are three riding modes, Road, Sport and Rain, which tailor throttle response and traction control to suit the conditions. Whether dialling up performance or prioritising extra peace of mind in wet weather, the system ensures the rider remains in control and connected to the road.
Advanced lean-sensitive Optimised Cornering ABS and Traction Control provide added confidence through turns, using real-time data to adjust braking and power delivery based on lean angle. Power is delivered through a slick 6-speed gearbox, with Triumph Shift Assist enables clutch-less up and down gear changes for seamless acceleration while cruise control adds convenience on longer journeys.
Connectivity and visibility are equally refined. The My Triumph Bluetooth system allows seamless control of music, calls and turn-by-turn navigation via the left-hand switchcube, with information displayed on a clean, round 3.5-inch colour TFT screen. The all-LED lighting system, including a distinctive round headlight with DRL signature, integrated tail light and self-cancelling indicators, ensures the Trident 800 stands out day or night, combining modern design with everyday practicality.
NAKED STYLE WITH ATTITUDE
Visually, the Trident 800 hits hard. Its naked design is all muscle and intent, blending sharp surfaces with smooth curves to create a commanding profile and athletic poise. The wide, chiseled 14 litre tank flows seamlessly into the contoured seat and sleek tail unit, while the short upswept silencer and minimal number plate hanger keep the rear lean and purposeful. A colour-coded belly pan and flyscreen add aerodynamic edge and visual cohesion, reinforcing the bike’s dynamic roadster stance.
Every detail of the Trident 800 has been crafted to deliver a premium finish. The embossed seat logo adds a subtle touch of refinement, while the lightweight cast aluminium wheels, in a striking gold finish, amplify the bike’s bold, unapologetic style. The wheel design complements all three colour options: Ash Grey with Diablo Red detailing, Carnival Red with Graphite accents, and Jet Black for a darker, moodier vibe.
The Trident 800’s styling can be further enhanced with a range of Genuine Triumph Accessories, allowing riders to tailor the bike to their own aesthetic. Options include a sleek Akrapovič silencer, with a titanium wrap and carbon fibre end cap, designed to elevate the bike’s sporty silhouette.
On the Road
With two-year unlimited mileage warranty and a class-leading 10,000-mile (16,000 km) service interval, the new Trident 800 is built for more time on the road and less time in the workshop, giving riders the freedom to enjoy every mile.
Customers in the UK can configure and reserve their new Trident 800 online, using Triumph’s new Reserve My Triumph technology. Securing their preferred colour with a deposit via their preferred dealer, customers can ensure they are one of the first to collect their new bike. The new bike reservation service will be progressively introduced across Europe and other major markets from Spring 2026.

The energy is building for AIMExpo 2026, and Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. is now set to return to the show floor in Anaheim, California, January 7–9. Yamaha’s continued commitment to AIMExpo reflects the event’s role as the key meeting place for powersports dealers and OEMs to connect, collaborate, and set the pace for a new year.
“AIMExpo continues to prove that it has clearly become the best opportunity for Powersports Business leaders to meet and greet business partners from all over the country, and to help set the stage for a successful selling season for the coming year and beyond,” said Martin Vivanco, Dealer Network Strategy Manager for Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A.
Those attending AIMExpo will have the opportunity to see Yamaha’s latest lineup, including the 2026 YZ450F, which features new updates in power, handling, and technology, as well as a special 70th Anniversary Edition that commemorates the company’s founding in July 1955. “Having the major OEMs on our show floor is important to us, and we’re stoked to have them put their trust in us as the place to connect with dealers,” said Andre Albert, Director of Marketing and Events for the Motorcycle Industry Council. “Dealers value facetime with their manufacturers, and the modern trade show is about creating lasting connections and momentum. Throughout the show, Yamaha’s dealer representatives and field staff will be on hand to talk with business partners about their latest models, answer questions, and spotlight initiatives like the Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative, supporting off-road riding for future generations.
“When a company like Yamaha commits to AIMExpo, it sets the tone for the entire industry,” said Cinnamon Kernes, MIC Vice President of Market Expansion. “It’s more than just new models on display – it’s a catalyst for conversations, partnerships, and new ideas that can shape the season ahead.”
S&S Cycle Announces Passing of Tim Osterberg
S&S Cycle regretfully announces the passing of Tim Osterberg on 10/28/2025. Tim started with S&S Cycle in November of 2021 as Vice President of New Product Development & Methods and in that role made significant contributions to new and current products.
Tim was a leader, serving on our Senior Management Team and as a mentor to many of the engineers in Product Development and Core Product Engineering. His long-standing involvement with the motorcycle industry made him an incredible asset to the departments he worked within. While suffering with cancer, Tim would show up in the office or on video calls to ensure his team was being supported, his dedication was apparent to all he connected with.
“I had the pleasure of collaborating with Tim over the past several years and he was dedicated to his passion of product development through his last moments. As recently as last week he was fully engaged in strategic planning conversations.” Said Brett Smith, who then said, “Tim will leave an indelible mark on S&S through his efforts to create new opportunities for the company—many of which will come to fruition in the next 12-18 months. Before passing, he actively identified a potential successor, Scott Cain. His transparency with the company regarding his situation and his faith were a model for us to emulate and follow. He will be sorely missed not only by the S&S team and family, but also by the many others’ lives touched throughout his time on Earth. Godspeed Tim and God bless your family.”
“It was truly a privilege to work with Tim and get to know him professionally and personally. He worked tirelessly to advance the mission of S&S Cycle and deliver Proven Performance to our customers and teammates,” said Mark Platt. “We will miss Tim’s strong professional presence, his technical expertise, and his steady demeanor. His legacy will live on through the products he developed, the projects he stewarded, and the team he built. We at S&S will continue to hold up Tim’s family in our thoughts and prayers.”
We will miss Tim more than these words can convey as he was not just a team member, but a true friend to the S&S Cycle employees and family.
