Harley-Davidson Revives Iconic Super Glide motorcycle in Celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary
Harley-Davidson today revealed the new limited-edition Super Glide® motorcycle, 55 years after reviving the original Factory Custom motorcycle launched in 1971. The 2026 model’s definitive cruiser stance, laced wheels, brilliant chrome and classic paint and graphics are a tribute to the original 1971 Super Glide. Production will be limited to 2,500 serialized motorcycles and presented in 2026 as a Special Edition to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the U.S.A.
The 1971 Harley-Davidson® FX Super Glide® was one of the first complete motorcycles styled by Willie G. Davidson, who joined the Motor Company as a designer in 1963 and was inspired in part by home-built custom motorcycles he had seen prowling the streets of Los Angeles. The FX Super Glide combined the Big Twin FL chassis with a narrow XL Sportster® front fork. Its white finish with red and blue striping and stretched Bar and Shield tank graphic are reprised on the 2026 Super Glide model. The 2026 Super Glide will only be offered in the United States and Canada with an MSRP of $15,999* (U.S.).
H-D’s Super Glide launch video is live on h-d.com and YouTube. The campaign features riders who witnessed the original, and are now making their own Super Glide stories today. Scotty Stopnik, world renowned builder and co-founder of Cycle Zombies Garage, and his father Big Scott Stopnik share the legacy of riding with the youngest generation, proving that this isn’t just a motorcycle but a way of life – inherited, shaped and redefined over time.
2026 Super Glide® Key Features
The 2026 Super Glide model joins the portfolio of Harley-Davidson Cruiser motorcycles based on the Harley-Davidson® Softail® chassis. The new Super Glide motorcycle offers timeless style – bright laced wheels, a five-gallon teardrop fuel tank topped with a chrome console, and a chrome mini ape handlebar that places the rider in a “fists in the wind” posture. Powertrain trim and covers, the air cleaner cover, exhaust, side covers, rear fender struts, signals and headlamp are finished in brilliant chrome. The fuel tank and fenders are finished in White Onyx Pearl paint topped with red and blue fender striping and graphics inspired by the 1971 Super Glide model. Serialization is presented on the fuel tank console.
The Super Glide model is powered by a Milwaukee-Eight® 117 Classic V-Twin engine tuned to emphasize ease in rideability with a flat torque curve to deliver satisfying street performance. The single muffler and classic round air cleaner produce the distinctive Harley-Davidson sound quality.

All-LED lighting – a 5.75-inch headlamp with signature ring and combination stop/tail/turn rear lighting – is designed to deliver style, outstanding lighting performance, and conspicuity to other motorists. The five-inch diameter console-mounted instrument presents an analog speedometer display above a multi-function LCD digital display. The rider can use the Trip hand control button to scroll through available information in the LCD display. A USB-C charging port is located at the front-left side of the motorcycle.
New Road Glide® Liberty Edition Enthusiast Collection Model
Harley-Davidson also announces the availability of the new Road Glide® Liberty Edition model, the fourth motorcycle in the 2026 Liberty Edition Enthusiast Collection celebrating 250 years of the country where Harley-Davidson was born and raised. The Road Glide® Liberty Edition joins the previously announced Street Glide®, Street Glide® 3 Limited and Heritage Classic Liberty Edition models. Each limited-edition Liberty Edition motorcycle is cloaked in Midnight Ember paint and features eagle graphics inspired by Harley-Davidson’s Bicentennial and Liberty Editions, connecting today’s riders to a legacy that moves America forward.

6 Tips to Ride Responsibly All Summer Long
While SSVs, UTVs and ATVs are sound and reliable machines, following safety practices reduces the likelihood of preventable incidents from occurring. Here are just a few of the many tips to keep in mind:
- Gear Up – Wear your helmet, gloves, eye protection, and any other safety gear required. Once you hop into the vehicle the first thing you need to do is buckle your seat belt.
- Stay on the Trail – Stick to designated trails to avoid sensitive habitats. Drive over small obstacles, not around, to avoid widening the trail.
- Be Respectful – Keep your distance, yield for smaller, slower or uphill riders, cut the dust and watch out for noise near residential areas.
- Ride Smart – Know your machine, understand the terrain and ride within your skill level.
- Ride Alert & Sober — At all times, driving on the trails and alcohol or drugs don’t mix.
- Pack out What you Pack in – Carry a trash bag for your ride and leave every trailhead cleaner than you found it.

New Ducati Desmo250 MX: up to 15,000 rpm and Traction Control to make all the difference on motocross tracks
Ducati is writing a new chapter in its history with the launch of the Desmo250 MX. The Desmo250 MX brings a strong performance, centered on its innovative desmodromic engine. With the ability to rev to 15,000 rpm while delivering a broad, usable torque curve, the Desmo250 MX combines lightweight agility with the strong, extended pull typically associated with larger-displacement bikes. The result is a motorcycle that allows riders to stay in power longer and reduce shifting, creating a riding experience unique in its category.
Like all Ducatis, the Desmo250 MX has its roots in competition, where the Borgo Panigale-based manufacturer tests solutions that are subsequently made available to enthusiasts on production bikes. It was, in fact, developed on the track in the Italian Prestige MX2 championship by Alessandro Lupino and inherits the strengths of the Desmo450 MX: precision, control, and reliability, all put to the test in the most fiercely contested segment of motocross, where the bike makes all the difference.

15,000-rpm Desmodromic Single-Cylinder Engine
At the heart of the Desmo250 MX lies an engine that is new in every detail: compact, lightweight (54.4 lbs), and powerful, delivering 44.5 hp at 12,500 rpm. It has been designed by drawing on the experience gained from the Panigale V4 R, the pinnacle of Ducati’s technological expertise, with which the Desmo250 MX shares the same bore and stroke dimensions (3.2 in x 1.9 in) and some of the most advanced technical solutions. Fluid dynamics, duct geometries, valve timing profiles, and flywheel masses have been developed to meet the specific demands of motocross: an engine designed to deliver power at every stage of riding. The focus was on achieving a sustained and balanced torque curve across all rev ranges, with a responsive low-end and a high-end power delivery capable of harnessing the benefits of the desmodromic system at all the decisive moments of the race: the start, corner exits and over-rev. Situations where every single tenth of a second makes the difference.
Desmodromic valve timing is Ducati’s technological hallmark, and on the Desmo250 MX it reaches its full potential. Titanium intake valves, steel exhaust valves, and a level of control precision that allows the engine to be revved up to 15,000 rpm. A new benchmark for the category, enabling riders to hold each gear for longer.
The engine is powered by a 44mm Mikuni throttle body. The exhaust is completely new, designed to maximize performance and rideability while still complying with international competition noise regulations. Completing the package is a 5-speed gearbox developed specifically for the Desmo250 MX, equipped with a quick shifter in upshift and a hydraulically operated Brembo clutch with a 7-plate clutch and a disc spring. A solution that ensures consistently precise and progressive acceleration to cope with and adapt to the wear and tear typical of this discipline.
The result is an engine that allows anyone to express themselves to the fullest and adapt to different riding needs, without limiting the potential required by more experienced riders.
Confidence on every circuit
The Desmo250 MX chassis is based on the 450’s perimeter frame and aluminum swingarm. Ducati engineers meticulously optimized the stiffness to achieve the best riding feel and give the rider maximum confidence in all conditions, especially when the 250 expresses its full potential: braking and cornering.
These goals were achieved through targeted interventions on the suspension as well. The Showa fork and monoshock feature hydraulics developed specifically for this model, aimed at achieving neutral balance and minimizing load transfer during braking, acceleration, and cornering. The result is an intuitive bike, capable of performing at its best on a variety of tracks and surfaces, thanks also to a wet weight of just 227 lbs with no fuel.
Handling is enhanced by the choice of original equipment Pirelli Scorpion MX32 tires, which, in addition to providing high grip, ensure a rapid bike when changing direction and entering corners, thanks to the 100/90-19 rear tire.
The braking system is Brembo, with 260 mm Galfer discs at the front and 240 mm at the rear. Uncompromising power and modulation, even for those riding a 250.
Benchmark Electronics
The Desmo250 MX is equipped with a superior electronics package, calibrated and optimized to enhance the 250’s characteristics. Two engine maps, customizable via the X-Link app, let you adjust the level of throttle response. The Ducati Traction Control can be adjusted to three levels of intervention, the engine brake to two levels, and the launch control to three. This allows every rider to tailor the bike to their riding style, terrain, and racing conditions.
Traction Control, in particular, is the most advanced element of the electronics package. Thanks to its experience in MotoGP and Superbike, Ducati has developed a true traction control system that is the subject of a patent. This system increases rider safety and energy savings while riding and can help to improve lap times. Unlike systems currently available in the segment, the Ducati Traction Control (DTC) on the Desmo250 MX calibrates power reduction based on actual rear-wheel spin, ensuring effective, prompt, and linear intervention.
Predictive Maintenance
Thanks to its experience in Superbike and MotoGP, Ducati Corse has developed a specific algorithm that calculates an engine stress index in real time, based on operating parameters and conditions of use. The system then updates the maintenance schedules based on this information, which can be viewed via the Ducati X-Link app.
In this way, check and service schedules are adjusted based on usage, with more frequent interventions for professional/intensive riders or more spaced-out for amateur riders, going beyond traditional static schedules.
Maintenance for the Desmo250 MX consists of two service types: “MID” and “FULL”.
The MID Service includes checking the valve clearance, which is carried out after 45 hours, and replacing the piston, which may be required at intervals ranging from 45 to 60 hours, depending on the calculated stress.
The FULL Service, which involves a complete engine overhaul, can generally be carried out at 90-120 hours, again depending on track conditions and the rider’s riding style.
Accessories
Thanks to the Ducati Performance catalog, you can build a replica of the Ducati Desmo250 MX ridden by Simone Mancini in the European MXGP. All the components of the factory 250 MX bike are available in the Ducati Performance catalog, with the sole exception of the factory Showa suspension, which is not available to privateer riders.
The special parts offered include Factory parts machined from solid, such as the triple clamps, as well as a complete exhaust or Akrapovič titanium slip-on muffler, Brembo Racing brake calipers, and Showa “Kit A” suspension. The list of available accessories will be gradually expanded.
Finally, to complete the Factory look, the Ducati Performance catalog offers a complete technical collection created in collaboration with Drudi Performance. The collection includes an Alpinestars jersey/pants/gloves/boots set, an Arai helmet, a wind vest, a softshell, and a Spidi rain jacket.
Availability
The Desmo250 MX will be available at select North American dealerships starting in August 2026. Pricing in the United States will be $10,595. To learn more about the Desmo250 MX, visit ducati.com.
