Sturgis Harley-Davidson Brings Record-Breaking Inventory of 1,200+ Rally-Ready Motorcycles to the 86th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally
Sonic Automotive, Inc. (NYSE: SAH), one of the nation’s largest automotive and powersports retailers, today announced that Sturgis Harley-Davidson and Black Hills Harley-Davidson will bring a monumental selection of more than 1,200 new and used Harley-Davidson motorcycles to the Black Hills for the 86th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, taking place Aug. 7–16, 2026.
The Nation’s Largest Inventory: More Than 1,200 Motorcycles Ready to Ride

The expanded lineup represents the single largest Harley-Davidson inventory ever brought to one location in the country. It gives rallygoers an unrivaled opportunity to access highly sought-after trikes alongside a massive selection of new and pre-owned motorcycles in every color, configuration, and style, during one of the world’s most iconic motorcycle events.
Through the newly launched “Rally Ready” pre-sale program, riders can shop before rally week, secure their preferred motorcycle, and schedule pickup upon arrival in Sturgis. This program is designed for rallygoers traveling from across the country who want to spend less time searching for the right bike and more time riding the Black Hills. Because this is the most in-demand inventory in the country, these premium motorcycles will go fast. Riders are encouraged to visit SturgisHD.com to secure their dream ride before the rally begins.
“The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is a cornerstone event for the riding community. It is an iconic celebration of freedom, the open road, and the American spirit,” said David B. Smith, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sonic Automotive. “This year, we are proud to bring riders an unmatched Sturgis experience through expanded motorcycle inventory, exclusive limited-edition products, and a rally-week experience designed around what riders value most.”
Limited-Edition America 250 Motorcycles and Collector Merchandise
To celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, Sturgis Harley-Davidson and Sonic Powersports will introduce the exclusive “250 Years of Freedom” collection, a limited series of 26 custom Harley-Davidson motorcycles available through Sonic Powersports.
The motorcycles feature custom silver livery, commemorative 1776–2026 badging, patriotic details, premium finishes and distinctive rally-inspired design elements. The collection will go on pre-sale beginning today at SturgisHD.com. With only 26 motorcycles available, once the collection sells out, it will not be restocked.
In a powerful showcase of the Sonic Automotive family network, one of these highly coveted, custom motorcycles will be awarded to the winner of the Quaker State 400 at EchoPark Speedway on July 12, uniting Sonic’s premier pre-owned automotive brand, EchoPark Automotive, with its elite powersports division.
Sturgis Harley-Davidson will also launch exclusive online merchandise drops for collectors and rallygoers, including eight 86th Rally apparel designs and a vintage reprint series inspired by Sturgis Harley-Davidson graphics from the 1990s and 2000s. The limited-edition apparel drops are available now online only at SturgisHD.com.
“Preparing for the Sturgis Rally is a year-round effort that starts with understanding what riders want most from their rally experience,” said Jeff Dyke, President of Sonic Automotive. “This year, we have expanded our inventory, introduced new ways for riders to secure motorcycles before arriving, and developed exclusive products that can only be found through our dealerships. Finished in a distinctive Obsidian Gold paint scheme, every motorcycle is individually numbered and supplied with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Engineered to deliver an even more engaging riding experience, the Speed Twin 1200 TFC features sportier ergonomics with clip-on handlebars, complemented by fully adjustable Öhlins front and rear suspension. Premium chassis components enhance precision, control and rider feedback, while Akrapovič titanium silencers amplify the unmistakable Triumph soundtrack.
Punchy, torque-rich power comes from Triumph’s 1200cc Bonneville twin, delivering strong performance with unrivalled character. Rider-focused technology, including Triumph Shift Assist. Optimised Cornering ABS and Traction Control, provide the precision and confidence to exploit thrilling performance on every road.
Nick Bell, Chief Marketing Officer, Triumph Motorcycles commented: “A Triumph Factory Custom is our opportunity to create something special. The new Speed Twin 1200 TFC takes the most performance-focused motorcycle in our Modern Classics range and elevates it with an exceptional level of detail, performance and exclusivity.
“The Speed Twin has always been admired for the way it blends timeless style, character and capability. With the TFC, we’ve pushed those qualities even further and the result is a motorcycle that feels even more dynamic, more exclusive and more rewarding to own and ride.”
Triumph Factory Custom (TFC)
Triumph Factory Custom (TFC) represents the most exclusive expression of Triumph Motorcycles. Launched in 2019, TFC models are produced in strictly limited numbers, combining enhanced performance and equipment specification with design innovations and ultra-premium finishes. Each TFC delivers the individuality and presence of a custom build with the engineering depth of a factory-developed machine.
The new Speed Twin 1200 TFC follows the Thruxton TFC, Rocket 3 TFC, and two editions of the Bobber TFC, becoming only the fifth motorcycle to wear the TFC badge.
Exclusive and Exquisite
Each motorcycle carries its own unique edition number, laser-etched alongside the TFC emblem on the billet aluminium top yoke, while a signed Certificate of Authenticity accompanies every motorcycle.
From the front mudguard emblem to the metallised clutch and alternator cover monograms, each feature is designed and finished with precision and intent. The gold chain finish and gold anodised lower fork legs and suspension adjusters combine functional enhancement with a striking aesthetic.
Gloss carbon fibre details, including the mudguards, side panels with TFC branding and heel guards, further reinforce its hand-crafted finish. Each motorcycle is also supplied with a branded indoor cover and waterproof seat cover.
Elevated Sports Style
Low-set clip-on handlebars, a billet aluminium top yoke and rearset footpegs combine to create an assertive riding position, strengthening the rider’s connection and enhancing control.
The Obsidian Gold paint treatment gives the fuel tank a striking yet understated presence, blending a metallic black base with gold metal flakes that reveal a subtle glow in changing light. This is complemented by gloss-lacquered carbon fibre bodywork, with front and rear mudguards, heel guards, and sculpted side panels crafted from the lightweight composite, adding a technical, motorsport-inspired edge.
Blacked-out elements, from the fork legs and rear sprocket to the control plates and engine covers, create a dark, sophisticated finish that is matched by the black Akrapovič silencers. A one-piece bench seat, finished in black leather and high-grip sports suede with rib detailing and hand-stitched construction, blends comfort with a tailored, custom sports appearance.
Modern lighting integrates seamlessly into the design, enhancing both form and function. Compact bullet-style multifunction rear lights combine indicator, brake and tail light duties for a clean, custom-inspired rear profile, while matching short-stem LED bullet indicators and a timeless round LED headlight provide clear visibility alongside a distinctive light signature.
*US models equipped with standard LED front and rear indicators
Premium Components
Built around a lightweight, high-strength tubular steel cradle frame and specified with premium components throughout, the Speed Twin 1200 TFC delivers agile, confidence-inspiring handling on any road. Fully adjustable Öhlins suspension front and rear, finished in black with gold anodised fork lowers, provides exceptional composure and responsiveness, with fine-tuning for preload, compression and rebound damping allowing riders to optimise control and feel to suit their preferences.
High-performance braking and reduced weight further enhance the dynamic capability. Brembo Stylema calipers, paired with a Brembo radial master cylinder, deliver powerful, controlled stopping performance, with an adjustable MCS lever providing precise feedback at the rider’s fingertips. Lightweight seven-spoke cast aluminium wheels reduce inertia for quicker steering and sharper direction changes, while Metzeler Racetec RR K3 tyres offer exceptional grip and feel, ensuring the Speed Twin 1200 TFC’s agile handling and responsiveness can be fully exploited.
Class-Leading Performance
Designed to provide a thrilling, torque-rich ride, the ‘High Power’ engine produces a wave of instant response from low in the rev range, with 112 Nm available from just 4,250 rpm. Peak power of 105 PS at 7,750 rpm ensures strong acceleration, delivering an engaging and rewarding experience with every twist of the throttle.
Power is matched by unmistakable character and sound. Twin Akrapovič titanium megaphone silencers enhance presence, their deep, distinctive note delivering an evocative Bonneville soundtrack. Finished in lightweight titanium with black detailing and carbon fibre end caps, they complement the engine’s iconic 270-degree firing order, enabling the Speed Twin 1200 TFC to combine modern capability with timeless Bonneville character.
Technology
Like the RS, the Speed Twin 1200 TFC integrates rider-focused technology designed to enhance every ride. Triumph Shift Assist enables lightning-fast, clutchless gear changes across the six-speed gearbox, working seamlessly with the engine’s torque-rich delivery. Whether short-shifting through the mid-range or accelerating hard towards the redline, each shift is smooth and precise, with rev-matched downshifts maintaining balance and composure into every corner.
Rider-focused control is further enhanced through three integrated riding modes. The ride-by-wire throttle system provides Sport, Road and Rain settings, allowing the delivery of performance to be tailored to riding conditions. Road mode offers a direct and intuitive connection, while Sport sharpens throttle response and optimises traction control intervention for a more immediate and dynamic character.
Advanced safety systems operate unobtrusively to support confident riding in all conditions. Optimised Cornering ABS and Traction Control monitor lean angle, speed and calculate available grip, ensuring consistent performance whether braking or accelerating, upright or at lean, intervening smoothly and unobtrusively only when necessary
Classic design is combined with contemporary functionality in the cockpit. A round instrument dial houses a large, easy-to-read LCD display, complemented by a colour TFT screen controlled via intuitive handlebar inputs, while a conveniently integrated USB-C charging socket ensures devices remain powered on the longest rides.
The exclusive Speed Twin 1200 TFC combines exquisite Triumph Factory Custom design with elevated sports style, to deliver the pinnacle of modern classic performance.

New Harley-Davidson Deadwood motorcycle delivers Stripped-Down Vintage Style
Harley-Davidson today rolls out the new black sheep of its Cruiser portfolio with the introduction of the Deadwood™ model, a motorcycle that taps into the raw, stripped-down look popular with many riders immediately following World War II. The new Deadwood motorcycle celebrates this era with a rugged persona that evokes the spirit of the solo rider. The 2026 Deadwood model is available only in the United States and Canada with an MSRP of $17,999* (U.S.). Arriving soon at authorized Harley-Davidson dealerships, the Deadwood model is featured now on H-D.com and will make its public debut August 7 at the Harley-Davidson event headquarter activation during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis, S.D.
Stripped For Performance
The generation of post-World War II riders often chose to strip their bikes of non-essential trim and components in an effort to boost performance and simplify the ride. Riding together to rallies was a way to recapture the unity they embraced in the military, and one of the most popular was the Black Hills Motor Classic centered in Sturgis, S.D. In 1947, more than 400 riders converged on Sturgis to tour the spectacular winding roads of the Black Hills region and visit the communities of Spearfish, Lead and Deadwood.

“The Deadwood motorcycle embodies that spirit of rebellion and individualism that was so prevalent following World War II, when many returning GI rode a Harley-Davidson motorcycle to experience excitement and freedom,” said Bjorn Shuster, Harley-Davidson Head of Design. “At that time, very few vehicles could match the thrilling performance of a stripped-down war-surplus Harley-Davidson. As designers, we find this era of customization and personalization, the early origins of the bobber-style custom, to be very inspirational. Our second key source of inspiration lies directly in the name Deadwood, a place linked to both the Sturgis Rally and to its own rebellious history. The graphic design for the tank art evokes a Western visual language which personifies that location.”
Inspired by this era of garage-built self-expression, the 2026 Deadwood motorcycle is stripped of ornamental trim and bright finishes. The powertrain, exhaust, rear fender struts, handlebar and riser, hand and foot controls, fork covers and front end, signals and headlamp bucket are all finished in deep black. To highlight the V shape of the powertrain only the lower rocker covers and pushrod tubes are chrome plated. Denim Black paint covers fuel tank and front and rear fenders. The five-gallon teardrop fuel tank is topped with a black console holding a five-inch diameter instrument.
Laced wheels with black rims reinforce the period styling. A tuck-and-roll solo seat with a laden seat height of 25.5 inches exposes the rear fender giving the Deadwood motorcycle one of the lowest seat heights of any 2026 Harley-Davidson model. The Deadwood model is not equipped with saddlebags, revealing the rear portion of a Harley-Davidson® Softail® chassis designed to mimic the clean lines of a vintage hardtail frame. Lowered rear suspension and a chopped detachable windshield give the Deadwood model a slightly slammed profile.
The Deadwood™ model is powered by a Milwaukee-Eight® 117 Classic V-Twin engine tuned to emphasize ease in rideability with a flat torque curve to deliver satisfying street performance.
Milwaukee-Eight 117 Classic Engine Performance
Displacement: 117 cubic inches (1923cc) Bore x Stroke: 4.075″ x 4.50″
Compression Ratio: 10.3:1 Fuel Octane Recommendation: 91
Peak Torque: 120 lb. ft. (163 Nm) Peak Horsepower: 98 hp (73 kW)
The 2-into-1 exhaust enhances engine tuning by promoting efficient scavenging of exhaust from the engine cylinders. The single muffler features lightweight advanced acoustic material to maximize flow while it delivers a satisfying low rumble at idle and powerful exhaust note under acceleration. The Milwaukee-Eight 117 powertrain offers significant performance potential with the installation of Screamin’ Eagle® Stage Kits and Screamin’ Eagle® intake and exhaust components available from Harley-Davidson® Genuine Motor Parts & Accessories.
Vintage Looks, Modern Technology
While the Deadwood model is dripping with vintage style, it features a full complement of Harley-Davidson® technology. Rider Safety Enhancements by Harley-Davidson are designed to enhance rider confidence during unexpected situations or adverse road conditions. The Deadwood model is equipped with following elements of Rider Safety Enhancements by Harley-Davidson:
- Straight Line/Cornering Antilock Braking System (ABS/C-ABS)
- Straight Line/Cornering Traction Control System (TCS/C-TCS)
- Straight Line/Cornering Drag Torque Slip Control (DSCS/C-DSCS)
- Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPMS)
Selectable ride modes electronically control the performance characteristics of the motorcycle and the level of technology intervention. The rider may use the hand control Mode button to change the active ride mode while riding the motorcycle or when stopped. The Deadwood model is equipped with the following Ride Modes:
- Road Mode: Intended for daily use, Road Mode delivers balanced performance.
- Sport Mode: Classic Sport Mode features a flat and smooth torque curve with greater low- and high-speed torque that pulls hard in all gears and any speed, making it comfortable, forgiving, and easy to ride for days on end.
- Rain Mode: This mode is designed to give the rider greater confidence when riding in the rain or when traction is otherwise limited.
All-LED lighting is designed to deliver style, outstanding lighting performance and conspicuity to other motorists. The Deadwood™ model features a seven-inch headlamp with signature ring, auxiliary fog lamps and combination stop/tail/turn rear lighting.
The five-inch diameter console-mounted instrument presents an analog speedometer display above a multi-function LCD digital display. The Deadwood rider can use the Trip hand control button to scroll through available information in the LCD display. Two heated gear connectors are located on the top of the rear fender below the seat for easy access. A USB-C charging port is located at the front-left side of the motorcycle.
The Harley-Davidson® Softail® chassis hides the rear suspension below the seat to maintain the classic look of a vintage hardtail frame while offering a thoroughly modern ride. A rear monoshock with under-seat hydraulic pre-load adjustment allows the rider to maintain optimal suspension performance for the prevailing load and road conditions. Rear suspension travel is 3.4 inches. Dual-bending valve 49 mm forks keep the front wheel in contact with the road surface for confident handling. Sure braking performance is provided by a single front disc brake with 300mm rotor and single rear brake with 292mm rotor. Tubeless laced wheels with cast aluminum rims enable Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPMS). Dunlop® Harley-Davidson® Series tires (Front 100/90B19, Rear 150/80B16) enhance ride and handling performance.

Visit H-D.com to see the new Deadwood model and the entire line of Harley-Davidson motorcycles, Harley-Davidson Genuine Motor Parts & Accessories and Harley-Davidson gear.
