Welcome to issue #43 of The Power of ONE.
We make a ton of decisions every day. Most of them feel pretty normal. Nothing special. Easy to forget. But every now and then, one of those small choices ends up meaning way more than you expected.
The tricky part is, you never really know in the moment which one’s going to matter. I really do believe that one moment, one word, or one action can create a ripple you didn’t see coming. You might not notice it right away — most of the time you won’t — but it’s happening.
If this hits, great. If it makes you pause for a second or look at something a little differently, even better. And if it resonates, please pass it along.
Because sometimes all it takes is one idea, at the right time, for the right person.
That’s the Power of ONE.
ONE QUOTE

ONE QUESTION
What one thing quietly separates a good professional from a great one?
ONE ANSWER
In my opinion, it is that quiet habit: follow-through. Doing what you say you will do. Not after two months or 20 emails; when you say you will do it, just do it.
Think about the people you most enjoy doing business with. The ones you recommend, call first, or trust with something important.
Chances are, you can count on them. When they say they will call, they call. When they promise an answer, they come back with one. When something changes, you hear it from them before you have to ask.
That is the Power of ONE at work. One person keeping one commitment can help someone else keep theirs.
Follow-through also requires honest judgment about what you can deliver. Before you agree, consider the time and work involved. Give the other person a clear expectation.
Start with one commitment this week.
Choose something you have already promised someone. Write down exactly what you owe them and when you will deliver it. Complete it, then let them know it is done. If you cannot complete it on time, contact them before the deadline with an honest update and a clear next step.
Repeat that practice each day. Before you finish work, ask yourself: Who is still waiting on something I said I would do?
A reputation for dependability grows through those ordinary moments. One returned call. One accurate update. One promise kept.
